Running the final kilometer with a child: an Ardèche Run exclusive
Let a child experience the excitement of the Ardèche Run finish line
The idea behind Kid Partner is simple: a worn-out adult runs the last kilometer with a child who’s full of energy!
The child wears a race bib with the same number as their adult partner. They wait for their partner at the 21-kilometer mark.
You run the last kilometer together, which is actually an 850-meter climb.
The adult should run behind the child and adjust to the child’s pace (not the other way around).
Ranking: Adults are timed and ranked just like all other half-marathon competitors. Children are neither ranked nor timed.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The adult is classified along with all the half-marathon runners
Whether you run the Ardèche Run solo or with a Kid Partner, it makes absolutely no difference for the adult teammate: they will be ranked in the Half Marathon category, just like all the other competitors.
The only thing that can affect the ranking is the requirement to stay with the child teammate and adjust to their pace.
The child is neither ranked nor timed
As required by current regulations, children are not ranked or timed. Every child will receive a medal upon crossing the finish line.
Every child registered for the Kid race will also receive a small welcome gift when picking up their race bib.
The child is your responsibility
While waiting for their partner, children participating in the Kid Partner program are not under the organization’s supervision.
The waiting area is marked by a tent. An adult must accompany the child to this area, and the child will remain under the responsibility of their accompanying adult until their teammate arrives.
If you ask the child to wait alone, you are responsible for them.
Limited to 150 children
The number of Kid race bibs is very limited, so we recommend registering early.
If you aren't registered for the Kid race but would like to run the last few hundred meters with a child, that's fine. However, the child will not receive a race number or a medal.
